Unforgettable

The #4 West is a par 3 that plays from 185 to 215 yards. A beautiful hole with an elevated tee that plays slightly shorter than the yardage indicates. A carry of a natural pond that runs in front of and around the right side of the green makes the tee shot intimidating.

Tester

Hole #2 on the North nine is a long par 4 that stretches out to 447 yards. You would think that a long drive is best on this dogleg right hole but it is best to lay up before the pond that splits the fairway at 250 yards. A long second shot is required to a narrow green. Par on this hole is a good score.

Directions

Take Highway 26 West (Sunset Hwy) to 185th Street exit. Turn left and head south for 6 miles to Hwy 8. Turn right and continue 6 miles to Witch Hazel Rd. Turn left and continue 1 mile to end of road at River Road. Turn right and proceed to next light at Roodbridge Road. Turn left and proceed 1 mile to course on left.

Meriwether golf course is a beautiful stroll through old growth oak trees with a mild incline from one end to the other. There are a wide variety of golf shots required on this golf course. All of the nines are enjoyable for all levels of golfers. The three regulation nines are well laid out and compliment each other. The nine hole short course features six par threes and three par fours with excellent greens. The layout takes advantage of a beautiful oak grove.

How can the PGA Professional put the beginner's mind at ease? - James Spadoni

One of the obstacles that lay in the path of most beginners is the perception that it is a difficult and complex game. Another perception is that nobody wants to play with a beginner. Exposing a player to the benefits of the handicap system will help alleviate some of the misconceptions about golf. Golf's handicap system is what has been described as "the great equalizer" whereby a player of lesser skill can compete with a much more advanced player and still enjoy the same competition. Exposing players to these types of programs is definitely in the best interests of the game of golf.
